Since I've been married and lived in Utah, I've started to hear this phrase that I've never been familiar with: neighbor gifts. Growing up we gave gifts to our neighbors and friends in the ward (usually Mom's amazing toffee), but I never recall the term "neighbor gifts." Perhaps its a Utah Mormon thing?
Anyway, its a pretty big deal around here--our neighbors pull out all the stops and December is full of treats, homemade goodies, handmade gifts and ornaments, etc. I have always wanted to give toffee like my mom did, but I've never been able to dedicate that much time to cooking toffee. This year Jayson suggested something different:
Little 12 ounce bottles of special sauce. They were adorable. Don't you wish you were our neighbor???

If I can voice my opinion on the matter, as AMAZING as your mom's toffee may be, you should definitely make YOUR thing be the special sauce! We loved it soo much--sampled it on every meat and other food item we could think of. It was a "special" treat indeed!
I am coming out of lurkdom....I actually am a neighbor! (somewhat) I am on 9th east. And have to say I love your blog and that does look like a great neighbors gift!
Yeah, I had never heard the phrase 'neighbor gifts' until this year. Maybe its a Springville/Spanish Fork thing? Anyway, YES I wish I were your neighbor! :)

I WANT TO BE YOUR NEIGHBOR! :)
Neighbor confession: I live in a duplex & I have no idea who our neighbors are.
