scout widow

Jayson is leaving again tonight on a scout camp out, and I am a scout widow once again. This will be our third weekend in seven weeks, so almost every other week he has been gone.
We are really grateful for his callings (scout master and young mens president), as they give him amazing opportunities to serve. He loves being with the boys and helping them be involved in a program that meant so much to him growing up. He still enjoys camping, and cooking, and everything involved with the scouts.

But the poor man has no time for himself. He has spent every second outside of work this week preparing for mutual on Wednesday, and this camping trip. Today he'll leave early from work and be gone until Saturday afternoon, at which time he will most likely crash on our bed because he'll be so exhausted. He has meetings, choir practice, church, etc on Sunday. Then it starts all over again next week.

I'm not really trying to complain...he loves it and I don't mind him spending time with the Scouts/Young Men. But we just need to find a way to get him some down time!

Instead of going out on the town tonight, I think I'll work on our taxes. What an exciting weekend for us!
