love aloha.

if you were wondering if we had a good time in hawaii--

today we walked into church and on the stand was the utah polynesian choir. a couple dozen polynesians in conservative suits, bright red leis, and beautiful voices. they performed in our sacrament meeting, and sang in hawaiian and english. during the first song they sung in hawaiian, jayson cried.

i unpacked after church. i opened up my suitcase and smelt the salty, sandy, wet hawaiian smell and i cried.

[taken from our patio our first morning at sunrise]

i'd go back tomorrow if i could. and i might never come back.

maybe someday i'll get around to telling you all of the wonderful things we did while we were there. but talking about it might be too painful. i know that sounds extreme--i tell you, i love that place more than i can explain here.

we're already planning december 2009. and 2010. and 2011, 2012, etc. anyone want to come with us?

We wanna come! I know how you feel. I was trying to find ways for us to move there when we went. I was trying to figure out if Aaron could work at BYU-Hawaii or something. I loved it SO much! I'm glad that you had a good time.

Count me in!! In fact, I say we all ditch everything here and move to Hawaii permanently. I bet a hot dog stand there would be a big hit!

ps. I'm still wondering what you wanted to comment about on my "fyi to commentors" post.

I know what you mean. I was going to do a whole different blog with pics and notes from our trip to Hawaii.... it's hard to put it in words. Make a iphoto book! They are super easy and then you can revisit your trip when ever you need a pick me up!

Hi Heidi... I popped over after I saw your comment on that girl in Brazil's blog. I'm so glad for you that you got to take a fun vacation. And yes, sometimes nothing makes you love your kids more than spending a little too much time without them. Your little girl looks so big and pretty. Mine turns two this week. (Hoping we can still be friends even though our toddlers fought over sippy cups. LOL.) :)

I had the same withdrawal you did when we came home from Hawaii in June. If I could afford to move there, I would. There's something about that place.
