happy birthday j dawgs!!

J Dawgs celebrated it's 4th birthday June 9, 2008. Four years! What a ride it's been!

To celebrate the birthday, we had balloons and handed out cupcakes during lunch. Mae wore her hot dog shirt.

We had dawgs for lunch. Mae, or course, devoured her dawg.

Now onto more serious stuff....

Owning your own business is an exhilarating, exhausting, empowering, frustrating, hilarious, draining, and life-dominating experience. Some days a 9 to 5 job with paid vacation, sick leave, overtime, etc sounds so so so appealing. But then we realize how much we love J Dawgs. It has helped us to meet some of our best friends and associates. Our customers are the best bunch of people around. Everything that J Dawgs has become is due to the hard work and dedication of Jayson. He has poured his heart and soul into this business. And at the end of the day, it still makes him smile like this:

Happy 4th birthday J Dawgs! And congratulations Jayson, for having the guts and determination to make it happen. And thank you everyone, for cheering us on along the way.

What you two do is so inspiring. I would never have the guts to start my own business, but you guys have made it thrive.
Congrats!!

Mae is SO adorable. Especially in that dawg shirt! She's gonna get to school and have the best bragging rights of all the kids on career day. "Oh, your daddy is a doctor? Lawyer?? Well, my daddy is Jayson from J Dawgs!!!"

Oh, we would give almost anything for a J-Dawg (or two or three). Well, next summer when we're back. Love and congrats -- Dad and Mom L.

Mmmmmmmmm, I could totally go for a dawg right now. Any chance of opening a Brazilian location?

We must talk sometime soon, girl. So much to tell. Including stories of Steve opening his own "business" - risk free! You were in the back of my mind the whole time we discussed it ...

Hey, ya ever comin' to visit?

Happy BIrthday! That is very exciting.

Your words are encouraging. We are about to embark on an adventure of our own with starting a new business. I'm scared and excited all at the same time. You bring me hope and encouragement! Here's to 40 more birthdays ( or at least to early retirement!) or 4 more stores!!!

you stole the pics of my camera, and you didnt even give me credit for them. You piece of work! Now I cant blog because they would be the same pictures. Thanks a lot. You ask for comments you get them.

P.S Right now I am sitting across the table from Heidi reading her what I am writing so please do not be shocked at the brashness of this message. Although it is the true feelings of my heart.

Can you take one more "Congratulations"? Actually, as FABULOUS as a J Dawg is (and I'm dying for one) I think the best things about J Dawgs are the owners - you have made it the huge success story that it is. I salute you!!
